Karel Adamus (1943) básník a výtvarník, výrazný autor vizuální poezie. Žije v Třinci. Od roku 1970 uspořádal řadu samostatných výstav, mnoha kolektivních se účastnil a od téhož roku publikuje v časopisech a antologiích práce věnované konkrétní poezii, Vytvořil několik cyklů vizuálních básní: Cigaretové básně (1969–1970), Pohyblivé básně (1970–1971), Básně partitury (1973–1976), Větrné básně (1983–2007) atd.

Karla Adamuse jako autora vizuální poezie do širšího povědomí uvedl začátkem 70. let teoretik a umělec Jiří Valoch. Valoch jej také spolu s dalšími umělci tvořícími na periferii zařadil do tzv. Brněnského okruhu. Hlavním pojítkem mezi těmito autory byla právě konceptualizace tvorby, akcent na vizuální a experimentální poezii a procesuálnost díla.

Karel Adamus (1943) is poet, artist and prominent author of visual poetry. He lives in Třinec. Since 1970 he has organized a number of solo exhibitions, participated in many group exhibitions and since the same year has published works devoted to specific poetry in magazines and anthologies. He has created several cycles of visual poems: Cigarette Poems (1969-1970), Moving Poems (1970-1971) (1973-1976), Wind Poems (1983-2007) etc. Theorist and artist Jiří Valoch introduced Karel Adamus as an author of visual poetry to the wider region in the early 1970s. Valoch, together with other artists working on the periphery, included Karel Adamus in the so-called Brno circle. The main link between these authors was the conceptualization of the work, the emphasis on visual and experimental poetry and the processuality of the work.
